Foreword

Foreword was the inaugural exhibition at the International Centre for the Image, Dublin, curated by Ángel Luis González Fernández and Julia Gelezova. Bringing together seventeen artists, the show examined the critical role of the still and moving image in contemporary art and society, spanning photography, video, and installation, with several works — including virtual reality and generative AI pieces — presented publicly for the first time. Participating artists included Abigail O’Brien, Alan Butler, Alex Prager, Ana Zibelnik & Jakob Ganslmeier, Anna Ehrenstein, Anna Safiatou Touré, Basil Al-Rawi, Bassam Issa Al-Sabah & Jennifer Mehigan, Colin Martin, David Farrell, Dominic Hawgood, Eamonn Doyle, Jean Curran, Mishka Henner, and Penelope Umbrico.
